BASMATI RICE

Of Indian origin, its name in the original language means “queen of fragrance”, a clear reference to its unmistakable aroma and flavour. The basic ingredient of Cantonese rice, basmati rice is ideal for preparing Indian and oriental recipes, as well as healthy and tasty dishes with vegetables, chicken and fish. Also of Asian origin is the custom of serving it simply steamed in small bowls as a substitute for bread.

Basmati rice is commonly consumed by athletes and gym-goers, but is also good for people with diabetes due to its low Glycemic Index.
Light and easily digestible, basmati rice is naturally gluten-free (suitable for people suffering from celiac disease) and promotes intestinal regularity.
